Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc officially begins streaming on Crunchyroll today as part of the platform’s 2026 Ani-May celebration. The movie first premiered in theaters in 2025, where it won Anime Movie of the Year at the 6th annual awards.

Meanwhile, the Chainsaw Man International Assassins Arc anime is currently in production.

Movie Story (Official Description)

Based on the hit anime series, Chainsaw Man returns with a brand-new, action-packed story. In the middle of a brutal war between devils and hunters, Denji meets a mysterious girl named Reze. As hidden enemies appear and emotions grow, Denji faces both dangerous battles and his own heart. This leads him toward one of his toughest fights yet.

Manga Background

Tatsuki Fujimoto started the Chainsaw Man manga in 2018. Part 1 ended in 2020 with 97 chapters across 11 volumes. Part 2 began in July 2022 and continued until March 25, finishing with 135 chapters. Viz Media publishes the English version.

Anime Information

The first anime season premiered last fall and ran for 12 episodes. Manabu Otsuka stated that the anime was a full financial success.

The opening theme song, “KICK BACK,” was performed by Kenshi Yonezu, while each episode featured a different ending song by various artists.

Crunchyroll describes the story as follows:

Denji is a teenage boy who lives with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Because of the debt left by his father, he lives in poverty and survives by hunting devils with Pochita. One day, he is betrayed and killed. As he dies, Denji makes a contract with Pochita and comes back to life as Chainsaw Man—a human with a devil’s heart.
