A Misanthrope Teaches a Class for Demi-Humans Light Novel Gets TV Anime in January 2026. Light novel A Misanthrope Teaches a Class to Demi-Humans officially has an anime adaptation, which will air in January 2026. The announcement was accompanied by a teaser image, trailer, personnel, cast information and final theme.

The series will be animated by asread, with Akira Iwanaga directing. Katsuhiko Takayama handles series composition, Maiko Okada provides character designs, and Makoto Miyazaki composes the music.

The main cast includes:

• Toshiki Masuda as Rei Hitoma
• Sora Amamiya as Kyoka Minazuki
• Saori Onishi as Isaki Ohgami
• Maria Naganawa as Sui Usami
• Rui Tanabe as Tobari Haneda

The anime’s ending theme song, “Ningen COME TRUE,” will be performed by the female cast members in character.

Written by Natsume Kurusu and drawn by Sai Izumi, the light novel started to be published in February 2022 by MF Bunko J (Media Factory) and has had four volumes published so far. Yen Press has licensed it in English, and have provided the following description of the story:

“These girls aren’t human, but they admire humans more than anyone. A year has already passed since I, the self-professed misanthrope Rei Hitoma, began teaching at Shiranui Private High School, where demi-human girls learn to become more like regular humans. One student has graduated, and now three new troublesome pupils—a dragon, a mouse, and a black cat—have joined my class. As the school year begins, can someone like me, who hates people, truly guide them toward their dream of becoming human?”
