The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest Anime Premieres October 4, 2025

The upcoming fantasy anime The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest has unveiled its main trailer, a new key visual, and an updated voice cast. The anime is set to premiere on October 4, 2025, and was first announced in March as a collaboration between CyberAgent and Kodansha, with animation production by Studio GEKKOU.

The opening theme song is “Quest” by Kiro Akiyama, while the ending theme song is “Kakera” (Fragments) by aruma. Both songs can be heard in the newly released main trailer.

The updated voice cast includes:

• Masumi Tazawa as Krasia

• Masaki Mizunaka as Ornest Lane

• Hikaru Midorikawa as Eldas Miheira (new)

Story Overview

Originally written by Alto and illustrated by Yuunagi, the light novel began serialization on the user-generated site Shosetsuka ni Naro in October 2020. Kodansha later acquired the series and has been publishing it under its K Ranobe Books imprint since August 2021.

A manga adaptation by Yuki Monji is also currently being serialized on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app and website, with the English version available on K MANGA.

The story follows Alec, a former court magician who had quietly supported the crown prince. After being suddenly dismissed for specializing only in support magic, Alec reunites with his former academy party members and sets out on a new journey to rebuild his team and aim for even greater heights.
